Ignore all the people who have told you lies about Glasgow being bad! Sure, some parts are pretty dodgy, but they're mostly south of the river and the west end is terribly civilised. I actually prefer it to Edinburgh - Edinburgh's a beautiful place and I like it very much, but Glasgow's lovely too, and is less touristy and more affordable to live in. If you ever fancy a day out here, I'm more than happy to show you around and take you to my favourite cafes, because I will take any excuse to go stuff my face with tea and cake!
