Today was full of little happy things...
Mar. 2nd, 2010 09:37 pm...that even a shit NMR spectra of my very important protein sample couldn't ruin it.
Firstly, the weather was absolutely lovely and I saw the first snowdrops and the green tips of the daffodils that will follow poking up through the ground. I've never paid much attention to the seasons before, but this year I've been desperate for winter to be over. Anyway, it was so lovely outside that it seemed a shame to waste it indoors. So I didn't - I took the aforementioned protein sample over to Liverpool and got a nice walk in the sunshine and a good, productive meeting with the lovely post-doc there.
And on the way I spotted two bus posters for I Love You Philip Morris. This along with the TV trailers for Chloe have got me all excited, because I was so looking forward to both of them but feared they would only get a limited release. Throw in The Ghost Writer, and I can't wait until the next few weeks.
Also, it's not bad having a father who's also prone to buying expensive camera stuff. He called today to let me know I have a new camera body - he bought a full-frame camera and now I get his 1-year-old 450D, which is a lovely little camera. Hurrah for free stuff! My next purchase was going to be a new camera body anyway, because my current one is 5 years old and lacks a few features I really want, like a bigger viewfinder, auto ISO and liveview for using the little manual focus macro lens.
Now I'm going to get back to watching a TV show on childbirth, which tonight is extra interesting because the boy's sister is currently going through labour. It's a good thing she's over on the other side of the world, because I bet she's screaming the place down right now - a large baby that's overdue, the poor girl.
