I was wondering why my epic painting marathon was making me all lightheaded and dizzy. Then I checked the time and figured it was probably because it was 9pm and all I'd eaten today was a cup of tea and a whole box of chocolate biscuits. Does this mean I can justify eating a massive serving of strawberries, sugar and cream? Why yes it does! :D
Anyway, the companion piece to the one I finished a few weeks ago is done, and even though they're nothing that spectacular or original, I am SO GODDAMN PLEASED with how they turned out. Sorry to tease you all, but I won't be posting them up here as I've offered them to someone. But I have to show something off because I hate keeping stuff under wraps (aye, I like instant feedback to inflate my ego), so I had a dig through my Abandoned folder and thought I'd amuse you guys with the stuff from the last couple of years that I got partway through before storming off in a massive sulk and refusing to touch them again.
Sea witchy thing! That's supposed to be coral making up her headdress. Getting that underwater look (or rather, failing to get it) ended this one.

Er, an unfriendly Twi'lek? Are there even such things as albino Twi'leks? I had the lekku drawn before I looked up a reference - turns out I'd painted a lovely backside on her head. Oops.

Page 3 wood nymph - had no idea where this was supposed to be going and abandoned it.

A nasty little swamp-prince with a bird-torturing hobby. I love how the ear, bird and hair turned out, but it was really bothering me how it was looking way to similar to another artist's painting.

Another unpleasent-looking fantasy character (I really need to draw people with smiles, don't I?). Zoe no like painting lots of skin.

I really wish I hadn't erased most of the line art for this Egyptian prince, because he was rather hot.

Remember the India levels of Tomb Raider III and those huge 6-armed statues that came to life when you got near them? They scared the crap out of me. Perspective is an utter bitch to get right.

A slightly steampunkish technician and her pet rat (she's unnamed, but he's called Boris). I got frustrated with the face (before I gaussian blurred it all to hell) and gave up, but I really like the sketch. I might return to it once I've improved a bit more.

And onto the next humongous painting - breaks are for sissies. I'm also thinking of starting an alphabet challenge - one artwork for each letter. Me, overambitious?
