Art: Some Hot Paradmedic Piece [Inception]

I'm probably overdue a lovely boring update about my RL adventures that I know you're all riveted by, but until then: more art! I had the idea of Arthur as a paramedic suggested to me by anne_jumps and it was a most pleasing idea. Turned out into quite a pleasing thing to draw too - I had a lot of fun painting this and coming up with the lighting, but the most fun was had when checking out hot paramedics for, uh... uniform research, that was it.





And because my superpower is using art to trick people into writing things, anne_jumps wrote a lovely story whose title has kept me amused all day to go with the art! \o/

This portrait is so gorgeous, I love it! Arthur is so handsome and noble, the background is so stunning and do capture the flashing lights and the colors of the scene without needing a lot of detail. And I very much enjoy the detail of his outfit, his uniform, his stethoscope. The way you illustrate clothing has improved by 100x in the past few years.

Aw, yesss, thank you! You do know how to hand out the comments I crave the most - the ones telling me I'm getting slightly less shit with every step. :P I'm pleasantly surprised by how this one came out because usually painting something in this style ends up with me realising halfway through that I really don't have the skills to pull the whole picture together and then having a little temper tantrum (as you well know from all the times you've asked how my arting is going!), but this one was kind of a delight to do. So yay!

Man, if Arthur was my local paramedic, I'd be doing even more stupid reckless shit in the lab than I currently do...

Well, clearly you have developed the skills, so yay! :D

And I know the feelings. It's so exhilarating when the vision of something you have in your head starts matching up (or being exceeded by) what you can make happen in reality. Took me years in my writing to get to that point (years of having the idea great in my head and lousy on paper).

Cheers! Yeah, looking up fit men and women in uniform really wasn't a hardship. I'm very bitter that instead of one of those fine specimens teaching us, the first aid course I went on had a bald, overweight, middle-aged man who really needed a belt. So hard to remember how to put someone in the recovery position when all you can see is asscrack...

Heh, the gloves! I used a pair of lab ones to help me out - went around for the whole day with lines scrawled across my hands to help me remember where the creases and folds lie when the hand's in that position.

Using it for good... for now. A day will come when I've lived long enough to see myself become the villain, and my art will be responsible for fandom producing a tide of Maurice Fischer/Peter Browning a/b/o mpreg coffeeshop AUs. The horror.

Haha, I think I accidentally gave myself one too because damn, Arthur makes anything look good. I seem to do this quite a lot: sit down to draw something I don't find particularly exciting as a challenge to myself, next thing you know, hello new kink!
