Beeston Castle

I had a lovely day today - sunny, warm (er, for April in the UK) weather, steak and ale pie in a shire horse-themed pub (even the wallpaper had horses on it) and a visit to Beeston Castle.

And the view from the castle I attempted to stitch into a panorama - I really need a tripod for this, it appears I can hold a camera at every angle but straight.

The Shire Horse themed pub sounds like fun. Have you ever seen a race run by Shires and other breeds of working horses instead of the vanilla throughbreds?

Er... I saw the scene with the Clydesdales in Krull, does that count? Don't laugh at me, I only watched that film for young Liam. No, I haven't seen a race like that, I didn't even know that there were races for those larger horses. Wouldn't mind seeing one though, I love
