...but it's more green foresty stuff than gold hotpants, I'm afraid.

(oh, and tell me if the larger size of the photos is too much and I'll go back to making them smaller)

The path by the river:

I hope you like this photo taken from the bridge, because it cost me my lens cap!

Various macro stuff:

Thank you! I got my jeans awfully muddy for some of these photos, but I think it was worth it.

No, I don't have Harry Potter on the brain and totally misread that as Hogwarts Castle. Nope, not me.

The shot of that fly is fucking EPIC, btw. :D I mean, I like them all, but the wonderful detail and clarity rocks the house.

Thanks! On the original image, even though I got the focus slightly off you can just about make out the individual lenses of the eyes. It's a very cool lens.

It is an awesome lens, isn't it? I'm building a little bracket to get the flash off the camera and onto the side, and I'm really excited about the results I'll get from that.

Yeah, the slug is pretty nasty! I quite like most invertebrates but those ones are just too slimy.

You've been to the Crags?!! You were just down the road from me. :)

You got some great shots of one of my favourite places.

I thought you lived nearby! You don't live in one of those houses on the crazily steep narrow roads that we went up when the sat-nav gave us wrong directions, I hope? I'm never going to visit you if that's the case! I don't know how people who live there get anywhere in bad weather.

It's a gorgeous place though, you're very lucky to live somewhere so pretty.

Hee no, we live further down the valley, t'other side of Halifax. I do like Hebden Bridge but wouldn't live there because of the parking. It's impossible all summer. We get to the Crags at least once every season, just to see the trees. I sometimes think membership of the National Trust would be worth it just for the free parking there.

What, you don't think my slug looks pretty? Its feelings are hurt. :(

I have too many slugs in my garden to have any positive feelings left for them. Actually I do my gardening according to the question "which plant won't be eaten by slugs?" That turned me into a keeper of roses, though I like dahlias much more. But no chance: dahlias are a slug's favourite food.

Lovely. I did like the stepping stones and the river pictures the best!

Thanks! The river pictures required quite a bit of balancing on slippery rocks trying not to fall in - which perhaps wasn't the smartest idea as I realised afterwards that I had the only finished copy of my lit review on a usb stick in the pocket of my jeans!
