carmarthen wrote two incredibly delicious PWPs that featured all sorts of awesome things such as cheesecake, Esca in eye liner, and Marcus giving head and loving it... and well, somehow I ended up painting an illustration that had so many fiddly background bits that I may have cried a little. I swear that from now on, unless things are only happening in a nice bland homogeneous um... wheat field, I'm not interested. Well carmarthen - er, I hope it lives up to expectations!
Yeah, so Esca's kilt continued to give me problems all the way through and I'm still not happy with it, so I order you to avert your eyes from it and gaze upon Marcus' adorable freckles instead. FRECKLES. And the rug, which is my favourite part. Yes, that may make me sad, but you try staring at Marcus' backside for several weeks without getting just a little bored.
...a drawing of Marcus' backside, I mean. Naturally, I would not complain about having to look at the real thing, especially if Esca was putting it to good use. Ahem.
Here, have some close ups at 50% of the actual size. Next time I start a great big painting like this, someone remind me to buy my poor computer a bit more RAM rather than shouting at it for taking 5 minutes to save the file.

I don't know quite how you've done it, but it's simultaneously languid and yet full of the most gorgeous, gorgeous tension - MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE AWESOME ♥ Oh, I am in raptures as much about the wonderful earth tones you've used (so evocative of Egypt!) as the beautiful lines of their bodies - especially Esca's delicious hips, hhnnnngh. And ALL the hands are hands of glory, I will not hear otherwise :D The more I look at it, the more details I can see - the dust motes in those lovely, diffused shafts of sunlight coming in through the window are just perfect. You are just so, so talented. I am in awe :)

Date: 2011-05-09 10:13 pm (UTC)I love everything about it and honestly before I read underneath I was totally taken with the details of the rug and the lighting. Really the more I look the more I see to love about it.
I love the soft folds of Esca's kilt. So would it be like a skirt type thing I'm assuming? Not sure what it is about it you aren't happy with but I was thinking if it wasn't hanging down over his right knee, but we could see the lifted edge, just under or in line with Marcus's chin, no details, just with tantalising shadows underneath it might just - Blow My Mind lol!
And yeah - the Freckles! and the motes of dust, and Hands! The few strands of hair between Esca's fingers! And Scar... *wants to kiss it*.
