Finally! This bloody thing is finished!

It's so nice to have time to paint again, now I don't have uni coursework piling up. This did turn into a ridiculously vast picture that caused my computer to grind to a halt for a full 5 minutes everytime I hit save, but I do love gorgeous, scheming Atia, and I'm very happy with how this turned out (even after four full repaints of her damn hair).

Oh wow, Zoe! Did you do this all in PS or another software? How long in total did it take you?

So gorgeous! The details are stunning, everything is stunningly done. Just amazing!

I've been thinking of going back to painting again lately, but I don't know if I can do it all digitally since I haven't even been painting on canvas for years now. But oh I really want to. And I also think my computer would probably die if I'd try to do something like this. :p

Thanks Thia! :)

Yes, it was done in Photoshop and took me roughly 3 weeks - working for a couple of hours a day, more at the weekend. I'm a very slow painter though - every 2 seconds I have to zoom out and see how it's going.

I'd love to see your paintings - I need more people to make me jealous! :P I find it much easier to draw digitally that traditionally - when I'm using something like pencils I keep reaching from the Control + Z key. And my 3-year-old laptop can cope with something 4625x7222 pixels large, so it's not that demanding. There, now you have no excuses! ;)

Oh wow!!! I'm speechless. Really amazing. Like Thia said, I want to know what software you used. Did you use photoshop or other software? Your painting is really, wonderfully detailed. I'm so jealous.

Thankyou! :) Yes, it's made with Photoshop (never had the patience to sit down and figure out Painter) with mostly the default brushes.

WOW! This is great! And you did a really good job with the hair. And all the details of the embroidery, jewellery and dress. Her face is great too. Though I wouldn't like to meet this lady in the flesh. She's looking like she's up to something nasty.

Thankyou! :) No, Atia is not the sort of woman you want to become friends with - she's a little too fond of having people murdered/raped/tortured.

From which book/movie is she? Sounds interesting ;>)

HBO's Rome - a drama set around the time of Julius Caesar (Atia is Caesar's neice). It's an awesome show, and not only for the excessive amounts of sex and violence.

Wow. I have no idea who she is but your pictures conveys her essence pretty perfectly. Even the skin tone is evil, and the lighting on the hair is amazing. As is the rest of this one!

Thanks! I'm glad she comes across that way - though I don't consider her completely evil, just extremely devious and amoral.

AMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING.
Particularly adore the angle.

Logging into DA and seeing this just got me so inspired (and envious).

Excellent, now go draw something. I haven't seen anything from you in ages.

Is free-verse dead? :(

It's amazing how the fabric looks like fabric, great texture there.

FV's dead. I'm planning to rebuy it again, however in about 3 months, when school's over. :( Sorry, Zoe. I completely forgot about it and didn't warn you of its coming death.

Ok. Wow.

Wow.

...

Wow.

Abso-fucking-lutely gorgeous! I can't believe how much detail you put into it - it must have driven you nuts. I demand to see the full size version when I next see you.
